Jack L Cooper

Jack L Cooper is the first known Black radio announcer, he is specifically the first Black radio programmer with creative freedom. He also became the first Black radio executive. He pioneered the Black radio format, which included different programming including sports, news, and community topics. He was also one of the first people to play phonograph records on air. Jack Cooper mostly played jazz, and gospel records. Jack L Cooper was known for his dedication to community service.
